We run 35 classes a week, starting with early morning 5:35s, midday, evenings, and four back-to-back on Saturday. We added a Sunday class and filled it the very first week.

We had a member who became number one in Spivi points in the world and lost 30 to 35 pounds in the process. That's what Spivi does: it gives people something to chase.

It's hard to imagine going backwards. I can't imagine our program without it now.

We have 16 locations, and 10 of them have Spivi. We have a few thousand registrants on the Spivi app, which is really great. People are addicted to it, we know it's a must-have across our branches.

When we decided to go for Spivi, we looked at several different providers. What we liked so much is the accessibility and the connection. We needed a virtual experience: if we kept doing the same thing, we wouldn't change. Cycling was a way to get as many people involved across all our locations as possible.

I really like the bikes. I like seeing the feedback, not only from my screen, but also on the big screen, looking at the riders going fast and going slow. It really makes me work harder throughout the class.

I teach to it. Sometimes I'll say: let's get in the box together, let's stick together. My effort is going to be different from anyone else here, but let's see how we can do it as a team. Because it's not just each individual on the bike.

About YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas

Dallas's Community Y, Powered by Scale and Data

The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas operates one of the largest community fitness networks in the region, with sixteen branches serving the Dallas metro area. Across the organization's 35 weekly cycling classes, offered from 5:35 in the morning through evening sessions, Spivi provides instructors and members with real-time performance feedback that has fundamentally changed how the Y approaches indoor cycling. One member made a sustained effort across the platform's global leaderboard, eventually reaching the top ranking worldwide while losing thirty to thirty-five pounds along the way. For a nonprofit serving a broad urban and suburban population, that kind of measurable impact is exactly what the program set out to create.
