Spivi testimonial review
Rush Cycle Bakersfield’s review of the Spivi system
Rush Cycle Bakersfield uses Spivi to deliver a more reliable, more competitive, and more engaging indoor cycling experience — while also strengthening retention, challenges, and community participation.
At Rush Cycle Bakersfield, we operate a 34-bike indoor cycling studio serving approximately 220 active members. Before switching to Spivi, we used FitMetrix as our performance tracking platform. While FitMetrix served its purpose for many years, it had become an antiquated system that struggled to keep up with the expectations of today's riders.
One of our biggest frustrations was reliability. We regularly experienced syncing issues between rider profiles and bike data, which often resulted in members losing performance statistics or having rides fail to record properly. For a rider who is working hard to track progress, achieve personal records, or compete in challenges, losing performance data is incredibly frustrating. It also created additional work for our staff as we attempted to troubleshoot issues and answer member concerns.
Since transitioning to Spivi, those issues have essentially disappeared. The system has proven to be extremely reliable, and our members have confidence that their performance data will be accurately captured and available after every ride. Having dependable ride history has been a game changer for member accountability and long-term engagement.
The onboarding process was incredibly simple. Bonfifer walked us through the entire setup, and within approximately 30 minutes we were operational. Aside from a minor Xbox controller issue that was quickly resolved, the transition was seamless.
The most noticeable difference has been member engagement. Prior to Spivi, we never had a true live leaderboard experience. Our front desk staff would occasionally handwrite top scores on a chalkboard, but there was no real-time competition or visual feedback during class.
Today, Spivi's live leaderboard has become one of the most engaging features in our studio. Riders can see their watts, RPM, mileage, calories burned, and overall ranking throughout each class. The leaderboard is displayed on large screens throughout the studio and has become a focal point of the rider experience. Members constantly push themselves to move up the rankings, beat friends, and set new personal records.
An additional benefit has been the professional appearance it brings to our studio. The live displays complement our premium studio environment and create an experience that members immediately notice when they walk through the door. Combined with our Keiser M3i bikes, the technology provides a level of feedback and engagement that simply wasn't possible with our previous platform.
One of the best examples of Spivi's impact was our Miles for March challenge. Spivi managed the leaderboard automatically and kept members engaged throughout the month. The results were remarkable.
What made the challenge so successful was not just the mileage totals, but the engagement Spivi created. Members constantly checked the leaderboard, discussed rankings before and after class, and pushed themselves to protect or improve their standing. The automated notifications and performance tracking created a level of friendly competition that we had never experienced before.
Another unexpected benefit has been social media engagement. Because members receive detailed ride summaries after class, many share their results on Instagram and Facebook while tagging Rush Cycle. This has created a steady stream of authentic member-generated content and positive exposure for our studio.
Since implementing Spivi, we have seen increased participation in challenges, stronger member retention, more personal records, and significantly higher engagement both inside and outside the studio. Most importantly, our riders trust the system because they know their performance data is accurate and will be there every time they ride.
Spivi has become far more than a performance tracking platform for our studio. It has become a key part of our community, our member experience, and our ability to motivate riders to achieve goals they may never have thought possible.
