How Clubs Successfully Operated in Lockdowns

For our case study, we have analyzed three facilities that took on Spivi Home and Spivi Replay™ during the pandemic.

After integrating Spivi Home and Spivi Replay™, all three facilities showed an increase in total classes per month as well as total participants engaging in their classes per month. 

Not only are they able to provide live classes but in addition, members were able to take Spivi Replay classes at their convenience, adding to the number of classes an individual member can take per day.

THE CHALLENGE - Operate under lockdowns

During the beginning of the pandemic and the massive shutdowns, studios and fitness facilities were in a revolutionary, transitional period. To stay afloat, going digital with their class programming was their only answer.

Our mission was to keep our client’s customers connected to them. In turn, we moved quickly and efficiently to deliver a way in which our fitness facilities could use their current Spivi systems to meet their external client needs.

THE SOLUTION - Spivi Home & Spivi Replay®

All three facilities have elected to utilize Spivi Home & Spivi Replay®The same Spivi platform that was trusted to provide a world-class in-studio experience now connected their members at home. Club operators could seamlessly run classes for both members in the studio and members at home, including a live video stream and performance monitoring. 

With Spivi Home, instructors could show metrics in real-time from sensors on fitness equipment and heart rate monitors, run fitness tests, challenges, show themselves to home users, and watch users at home. All, as a unified solution, without the need to connect to a third-party application such as Zoom, but with the ability to keep using their other platforms such as CRMs via the included API.

Members could download and install the app on all platforms  - phones, tablets, and computers.

With Spivi Replay®, fitness facilities could offer the same live classes as on-demand, both in the studio and at home. This feature is unlike any other on the market as the real-time metrics and animation of the recorded class are blended with the current individual taking that class, creating a motivating and engaging experience for the user which mimics a live session. 

 

THE RESULTS

Increase in Total Classes Per Month

After integrating Spivi Home and Spivi Replay®, all 3 facilities showed an increase in total classes per month as well as total participants engaging in their classes per month. 

Not only are they able to provide live classes but in addition, members were able to take Spivi Replay® classes at their convenience, adding to the number of classes an individual member can take per day.    

The solution, which we provided, allowed that Studio to not only survive the pandemic but to thrive during the forced lockdowns.

Immediate Recovery

By providing a platform that connects the studio members and the home members, all three facilities strengthen their businesses from the pitfalls of the pandemic.

Throughout the year, there were constant changes in closures and reopenings for fitness facilities and studios. These facilities were able to have peace of mind knowing that the service and technology they used were solid to fall back on, meaning that they could continue to provide a service that their members could rely on and stay engaged.

Business as Usual in a Hybrid Model

As you can see from the Percentage of Remote Users chart, almost all of the Studio A members (+80%) used the Spivi Home platform to participate in their studio’s workouts remotely. Studio B started to use the service in August 2020 in a hybrid model, where the studio itself was limited in capacity but could increase virtually by adding more members from home.

Another fascinating insight is that many members who could get back to the Studio once reopened kept connecting with it from home.
