FITNESS TESTS

The Fitness tests help members to find their personal fitness metrics. Once a Fitness test is finished, the results will be uploaded automatically to each member’s personal profile on Spivi. Training with personal fitness metrics gives the members the ability to work according to their own fitness level.

*FTP Test

Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is the maximum average wattage that a one can sustain during a 60-minute time trial. During this test, members should work at their highest possible power output. It is highly recommended to perform FTP test every few weeks to track the fitness level and improve it over time.

Spivi offers multiple versions of FTP test:

  • 3 minutes test: This short version of FTP test is suitable for beginner’s class. During this test, Spivi computes the average power in Watts units and sets the FTP value to 80% of it. For example: if the average power during this test is 200 Watts then Spivi will set the FTP value to 160.
  • 5 minutes test: This short version of FTP test is also suitable for a beginner’s class. During this test, Spivi computes the average power in Watts units and sets the FTP value to 85% of it. For example: if the average power during this test is 200 Watts then Spivi will set the FTP value to 170.
  • 8 minutes test: This version of FTP test is suitable for more fit trainees. During this test, Spivi computes the average power in Watts units and sets the FTP value to 90% of it. For example: if the average power during this test is 200 Watts then Spivi will set the FTP value to 180.
  • 20 minutes test: This version of FTP test is suitable for trainees who are highly fit or to professional cyclists. During this test, Spivi computes the average power in Watts units and sets the FTP value to 95% of it. For example: if the average power during this test is 200 Watts then Spivi will set the FTP value to 190.

Max HR test

Max Heart Rate (MHR) is the maximum rate which the heart can beat per minute. During MHR tests, members should aim to their highest possible heart rate. Instructors and Studios working with HR monitors can use the Max HR metric to design a class profile based on the Max HR zones.

Spivi offers multiple versions of MHR tests:

  • 1-minute test, suitable for beginner’s class.
  • 2 minutes test and 3 minutes test, suitable for more fit trainees.
These tests compute personal MHR value for each participant in the class. Spivi tracks the heart rate of each participant and estimates the max heart rate.

LTHR Test

Lactate Threshold Heart Rate (LTHR) is the maximum average heart rate that a one can sustain during a 60-minute time trial. During this test, members should aim to their maximum possible heart rate. LTHR doesn’t change much over for fit members and can help set personal training goals during a workout. Still, it is recommended to test the LTHR every few months.

Spivi offers multiple versions of LTHR test:

  • 3 minutes test: This short version of LTHR test is good for a beginner’s class. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 80% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 160.
  • 5 minutes test: This version of LTHR test is also good for a beginner’s class. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 85% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 170.
  • 8 minutes test: This version of LTHR test is more suitable for participants who are fit. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 90% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 180.
  • 20 minutes test: This version of LTHR test is more suitable for professional trainees. Spivi computes the average Heart Rate during the test and sets the LTHR value to 95% of it. For example, if the average HR during this test is 200 BPM then Spivi will set the value to 190.
